Maike Bäcklin is the sole data controller for all personal data collected through this website and through the provision of coaching services. No data processor or third-party controller is used beyond the platforms listed in Section Third-Party Platforms.
Data you provide directly
When you submit an application, book a session, subscribe to the blog, or contact Althea Anima by email, you may provide:

- Personal and biographical information shared in the application form
- Health information, including mental health history and current medications, where voluntarily provided
- Information about your personal circumstances, relationships, and history shared during coaching sessions
- Payment information (processed by third-party payment platforms — see Section 5)
Health and mental health information is classified as special category data under GDPR and is handled with the highest level of care and protection. It is collected only where necessary for your safety and the appropriate delivery of services, and only with your explicit consent.
Data collected automatically
When you visit altheaanima.com, the website platform (Mastermind / HighLevel) may automatically collect:

Contract performance
To deliver the coaching services you have booked or enrolled in, including scheduling sessions, maintaining session notes, and providing voice message support.

Explicit consent

To comply with Swedish law, GDPR, UK GDPR, PIPEDA, and any other applicable legal requirements.
Althea Anima does not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.
Application forms and session-related notes are retained for a maximum of three years following the end of your engagement with Althea Anima, after which they are securely deleted.
Email correspondence is retained for a maximum of two years unless it forms part of a contractual or legal record.
Blog subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe, after which it is deleted within 30 days.
Payment records are retained for seven years in accordance with Swedish accounting law.
If you request deletion of your data before these periods have elapsed, your request will be honoured except where retention is required by law.
Althea Anima uses the following third-party platforms to operate its services. Each platform processes data on Althea Anima's behalf and is subject to its own privacy and security standards:
Mastermind / HighLevel
Used for website hosting, booking, CRM, and email communication. Data is stored on servers within the European Economic Area or under standard contractual clauses. Privacy policy: gohighlevel.com/privacy
Stripe
Used for processing card payments via Mastermind. Card details are not stored by Althea Anima at any point. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
Swish
Used for processing payments from clients based in Sweden. Payment data is handled directly by Swish and is not stored by Althea Anima. Privacy policy: swish.nu/integritetspolicy
Bank Transfer
For clients who pay by direct bank transfer, sender details received — including name and payment reference — are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes only and are not used for any other purpose.
Google Meet
Used for delivering sessions remotely. Sessions are not recorded without your explicit consent. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy
Althea Anima does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. Your data is never used to target advertising.
Althea Anima works with clients globally. Where your data is processed across borders, appropriate safeguards are always in place.
- Within the EU and EEA this is covered by GDPR.
- Transfers to the United Kingdom are covered by the UK adequacy decision and UK GDPR.
- Transfers to Canada are covered by PIPEDA and the EU-Canada adequacy finding.
- Transfers to the United States and all other countries are conducted only under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards, and GDPR standards apply as the baseline in all cases.
The platforms used to deliver services — including Mastermind/HighLevel, Google Meet, and payment processors — may process data on servers outside the EU. Where this occurs, Althea Anima ensures that adequate protections are in place in accordance with GDPR requirements.
Regardless of where you are based, you have the right to access the personal data held about you, to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete, and to request its deletion. You may also restrict or object to how your data is processed, withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, and receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format upon request.

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, you will be notified within 72 hours of Althea Anima becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with GDPR requirements.
