Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before booking a session or enrolling in any programme offered by Althea Anima. By making a booking or payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
These terms form a binding agreement between you (the client) and Maike Bäcklin, trading as Althea Anima, based in Sweden.
Services
Althea Anima offers trauma-informed private coaching services, including:
Single coaching sessions (90 minutes)
The Leading Lady Programme — 10 private 90-minute sessions over 6 months, with ongoing voice message support
By Arrangement — an 11-month private journey with unlimited sessions
All services are delivered via Google Meet or, where agreed in advance, in person. Sessions are conducted in English, Swedish or German.
These services constitute coaching, not psychotherapy, counselling, or any form of licensed mental health treatment. If you are currently in acute psychological crisis, experiencing active suicidal ideation, or require clinical psychiatric support, please seek the appropriate licensed professional.
The work offered by Althea Anima is trauma-informed and works with the nervous system, somatic experience, and subconscious patterns. It is not a substitute for clinical therapy, psychiatric treatment, or medical care.
Maike Bäcklin is a trained and experienced coach. She is not a licensed psychotherapist, psychologist, or medical professional. You are responsible for ensuring that coaching is appropriate for your current situation and, where relevant, for consulting a qualified medical or mental health professional.
By booking a session or enrolling in a programme, you confirm that you are not currently in acute crisis and that you understand the distinction between coaching and clinical treatment.
Althea Anima does not offer services to persons who are currently in acute psychological crisis, or who are living with an active mental health diagnosis that is being managed with ongoing psychiatric medication, including but not limited to antidepressants, antipsychotics, mood stabilisers, or anxiolytics.
This boundary exists not as a judgment but as a matter of safety. The depth of this work requires a nervous system that is not currently being regulated by medication, and it is not appropriate as a complement to active psychiatric treatment. If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please consult your doctor or psychiatrist before applying.
If your circumstances change during the programme — including a new diagnosis or the commencement of psychiatric medication — please notify Maike Bäcklin immediately so that we can assess together whether it is appropriate to continue.
Single session: USD $400, payable in full at the time of booking.
Leading Lady Programme: USD $3,700, payable in full or in three instalments of USD $1,234 each. The first instalment is due upon enrolment. Subsequent instalments are due at intervals agreed in writing at the time of enrolment.
By Arrangement: USD $11,000, payable in full or in an instalment arrangement agreed in writing at the time of enrolment.
All payments are processed through Mastermind or another designated payment platform. Prices are quoted in USD and are inclusive of any applicable Swedish VAT where required by law.
Failure to make instalment payments on the agreed schedule may result in suspension of services until payment is received.
Single Sessions
Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled session will receive a full refund or, at your preference, a credit toward a future session.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled session are non-refundable. This policy exists because the session time has been held exclusively for you and cannot be offered to another client at short notice.
Rescheduling is possible with more than 24 hours' notice and is always preferred over cancellation.
Leading Lady Programme and By Arrangement
Once enrolled and the first session completed, programme fees are non-refundable in full. If you choose to discontinue the programme after the first session, no refund will be issued for sessions already held or for the remaining programme.
In exceptional circumstances — serious illness or significant life emergency — Maike Bäcklin may, at her sole discretion, offer a credit toward future sessions or an adjusted arrangement. This is not a contractual entitlement but a reflection of the care with which this work is offered.
If a session is cancelled by Maike Bäcklin, it will be rescheduled at a time that suits you. If rescheduling is not possible, a credit will be applied.
Everything shared within sessions is held in the strictest confidence. Maike Bäcklin will not disclose the content of sessions, your personal information, or the fact of your participation to any third party, except:
Where you have given explicit written consent
Where there is a serious and credible risk of harm to you or others
Where disclosure is required by Swedish law
Sessions are not recorded without your explicit consent. Any notes taken are used solely to support the quality of your sessions and are stored securely.
Your personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Swedish data protection law. Please see the Privacy Policy at altheaanima.com/privacy for full details of how your data is collected, stored, and used.
To receive the full benefit of this work, you agree to:
- Attend sessions punctually and prepared
- Provide honest and accurate information about your health, history, and current situation
- Notify Maike Bäcklin if your circumstances change in ways that may affect your suitability for coaching
- Take responsibility for your own choices, actions, and wellbeing outside of sessions
- Honour the payment schedule agreed at the time of enrolment
The work requires your genuine participation. Results depend on your willingness to engage honestly with the process. Althea Anima cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
Maike Bäcklin / Althea Anima is not liable for any decisions you make as a result of coaching, or for outcomes arising from the application of insights gained during sessions.
The total liability of Althea Anima to you, in any circumstance, shall not exceed the total fees paid by you for services in the preceding three months.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Swedish law.
All materials provided as part of Althea Anima's services — including audio content, written materials, frameworks, and methodologies — are the intellectual property of Maike Bäcklin and are provided for your personal use only.
You may not reproduce, share, sell, or adapt these materials without written permission.
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Any disputes arising from these terms or from the services provided by Althea Anima shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
Althea Anima reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Current clients will be notified by email. The current version will always be available at altheaanima.com/termsandconditions. Continued use of services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
